What is seroma?

Seroma is a common complication that can occur after surgery. It is characterized by the accumulation of fluid under the skin near the surgical incision site. This inflammatory response typically occurs following surgeries that involve cutting and manipulating the skin and fatty tissue, such as plastic surgery, tummy tucks, liposuction, breast surgery, or cesarean sections. Symptoms may include swelling, pain, heaviness, and discomfort in the affected area.
